As I scroll my timeline, I see some of you guys that are #Stayinghome to #FlattentheCurve , and #Homeschooling parents are partaking in some dranks, to calm their nerves, lol! I figured this #ThirstyThursday is the perfect opportunity to offer a few tips to save you some pounds during this time at home. Of course, the best way to avoid drinking your calories, is NO dranks. 😝
If you chose to sip, dry white wines such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc are good choices. Clear spirits like vodka, gin, and Blanco Tequila will be your best choices as they have the least amount of sugar. For cocktails, prepare them neat or on the rocks. Chasing them with seltzer or club soda and adding lemon, lime, olives or fresh mint for flavor are great options. Steer clear of sugary chasers like soda, juice, simple syrup and the sneaky one, tonic water. Did you know tonic water has the same amount of sugar as soda??? Also, set your drink quantity beforehand, STICK TO IT, and then monitor your portions. 5oz of wine per glass and 1.5oz of spirits per drink.
